Allan Reynolds

Allan Reynolds is Vice President, Industry and Member Relations of the Canadian Association for Pharmacy Distribution Management (CAPDM). Allan interacts with the CAPDM Board and Members, as well as external stakeholders. Working across the pharmacy supply chain nationally, Allan assists the Association in building and maintaining consensus positions on key industry issues, developing content and focus of education programs, and managing communications to increase understanding of and support for CAPDM’s role.

Before joining CAPDM, Allan was Vice President, Corporate Communications with two international public affairs firms for over 25 years. His consulting experience encompassed a wide variety of business-to-business communications, community relations, issues management, media relations, internal communications and government relations on behalf of associations, governments, not-for-profit groups and companies, including major pharmaceutical and retail organizations. Prior to this, Allan was a business reporter and editor for several years.

Allan serves on the Board of Directors of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario and the Anaphylaxis Canada. He has also been active on Toronto Board of Trade committees and on the executive of the International Association for Business Communication.

Sarah Skuce

Sarah Skuce is a Compliance Specialist at the Drug GMP Inspection Unit in the Compliance and Enforcement Coordination Division at the Health Products and Food Branch Inspectorate in Health Canada. Sarah holds an Honours Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Biopharmaceutical Sciences with an emphasis on Genomics from the University of Ottawa. Her duties at the Inspectorate include evaluating GMP compliance of foreign drug establishments, contributing to the development of regulations, policies and guidelines as well as participating in the management of emergency or crisis situations involving drug products. Sarah has been with the Drug GMP Inspection Unit since November 2005.

Rafik Bishara

Dr. Bishara is the current chair of the Pharmaceutical Cold Chain Interest Group (PCCIG), Parenteral Drug Association (PDA). He has served as a temporary adviser to the World Health Organization (WHO) since July 2007.

Bishara retired from his position as director, Quality Knowledge Management and Technical Support, Eli Lilly and Company, after a 35-year career. During his tenure at Eli Lilly and Company, he was responsible for the Quality Knowledge Management, Global Compendial Affairs, Stability and Distribution Excellence, Global Product Protection, Special Security Substances and Controlled Substances Administration. Bishara frequently chairs and presents at industry conferences, has authored numerous articles, and has technically advised several organizations on Good Cold Chain and Temperature- Controlled Management Practices. He received his Ph.D. from Purdue University, Indiana, USA.

Before joining Sanofi Pasteur, Sherman worked at various senior supply chain and operations management positions for several Fortune 100 multi-national corporations, such as The Dow Chemical Company, Sea Land Service Inc. at different geographical locations.

Sherman is a pioneer in leading re-engineering on both Supply Chain and Cold-chain Management and achieved many break-through improvements. His unique integrated approach on cold-chain management helps Sanofi Pasteur Ltd. achieved close-to-zero deviation performance for years.

Sherman possesses MBA and Industrial Engineering degree. He is also members of several supply chain professional associations of Planning, Logistics and Purchasing.

Mau'veen Dayrell-Johnson

Mau'veen Dayrell-Johnson has been employed by the Canada Border Services Agency for over 25 years. She is currently a Senior Officer in Trade Compliance. Some of Mau'veen’s duties include providing presentation and community outreach sessions, assisting individuals in customs procedures and liaising with various government departments. Prior to this she spent over 20 years as a Border Services Officer at Pearson International Airport.

Eric Malouin is the Distribution Operations supervisor at Abbott Laboratories Limited. Eric has over 7 years of experience in Logistics primarily in the healthcare business. In his current role at Abbott, Eric is in charge of the Cold-chain program, manages the transportation and is highly involved in multiple aspects of the distribution. Eric designed, developed and implemented the cold-chain program at Abbott in collaboration with the Quality-Assurance department.

Jim Bacon

Jim Bacon is Director, Global Demand Planning & Customer Operations at Talecris Biotherapeutics, Inc., at their head office in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. In his role, Jim has responsibility for Global S&OP Demand Management, international customer service and logistics, and is the resident expert on cold chain logistics.

Jim was responsible for establishing logistics services for Talecris with 3PL’s in Canada and Germany, and as Talecris expands its’ business worldwide. He also participates in an advisory capacity for continuous improvement with our partner providers.

Jim has led the cold chain team effort at Talecris since 2002, implementing solutions to improve safety and integrity of product from domestic small package to multi pallet international shipping. He has been published in various industry publications featuring Talecris’ advances in cold chain management and describing the process and relationships required to develop sound solutions.
